I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computing and Information Studies from
Washington & Jefferson College,
with minors in Neuroscience and Philosophy.
Although I have a strong interest in programming and solving problems
through computers, I am also fascinated by how the human mind works, both
physiologically and on a more abstract level. I have been programming
for years and would consider myself proficient in Java, Python,
JavaScript and JQuery/Jquery Mobile, HTML5 and CSS3, ColdFusion, XML, JSON, Batch,
and SQL (Oracle PL/SQL and MySQL).
I currently work as an Oracle Database Developer for
Peraton.
My chief responsibilities include Oracle database design, development,
and maintenance, in addition to occasional web interface development using Angular or
Adobe ColdFusion. My workload encompasses various aspects of the development stack,
keeping my skill set sharp and flexible.
I am, always have been, and always will be a problem solver and tinkerer,
inquisitive in nature and imaginative at heart. To contact me or discover more, visit

For my CIS capstone project, I led the development of a real-time bus-tracking web service for Freedom Transit. Android tablets housed on the busses run a custom tracking app, sending geolocation data to a Google Firebase database. The client-facing web application reads from the database and paints an interactive map using the Google Maps API.
My final project for Eye Tracking Methodology involved designing and carrying out an experiment to compare the eye-movement patterns of novice and expert chess players. With the help of a Tobii X60 eye tracker, we found that, in general, expert players spend more time attenuating to spatial relationships between pieces, whereas novice players spend more time looking at the pieces themselves.
In my spare time at home, I developed a Minecraft mod that communicates environmental block data in real-time to the user's Philips Hue smart lights. This allows the on-screen experience to be synced with the glow emitted by the lights, and generates visual responses from in-game triggers, such as lightning strikes or walking near a roaring campfire.
